Introduction

The third event in Touhou LostWord is here: The Kosuzu Motoori Case Files! This time around, it seems a mystery is afoot - the Gensokyo Chronicle-Reference Materials are gone, and our three magician detectives are on the case! Don't know what the Gensokyo Chronicle is? It's a collection made by the Child of Miare (currently Hieda no Akyuu), a child born every hundred to hundred and fifty years as the reincarnation of Hieda no Are. It's essentially an encyclopedia of information about Gensokyo, made to safeguard its human residents and keep the scales of power from being tipped too far in favor of youkai. As such, the reference materials being stolen is a Big Deal. You have to wonder who'd be brazen enough to attempt a theft like that...

How to Farm Event Points!

For LostWord events, completing stages and missions rewards you with Event Points. These Event Points are used in a number of ways, for a ton of Coins, Scrolls, Tiles, and even Friend Rituals! This guide will teach you the ways in which you can earn and spend Event Points, to earn all of those amazing rewards.

How to get Event Points

The most straightforward way to earn Event Points is simply by completing stages. Each stage you complete will reward you with a number of points - the first time you complete certain stages for a day, you will gain between 3x to 9x that amount, as signified by a UI element on stage selection. In total, you will need 545,600 points to fully clear out both the Event Shop and the Lottery.

Total Points Milestone

The first form of rewards come in rewards for hitting a total number of Event Points earned over the duration of the event, accessed from the Events icon on the home screen. These rewards are completely free, and only care about total points earned - you can freely spend your Event Points, and it will not affect your progress towards the next milestone at all. These scale up to 999,999, but you only need a total of 250,000 points to get both Friend Rituals (50k, 150k) and the Paper Doll (250k), and rewards come much slower after that point, so only grind as much as you feel comfortable with after that point! Also remember that you only need 545,600 points to fully clear out the Event Points Shop and the Lottery.

The shop is the first of two ways to spend your Event Points, accessed through either the icon on the home screen or Sanae’s shop. The event starts out with plenty of rewards, and then more are added during the second half of the event. This should be the first place you spend your Event Points, if you’re not aiming to obtain every reward. You will need 395,600 points in total to clear out the shop.

Costume Bonus!

During each event, certain specially marked costumes will grant a 1.2x bonus (20%) to Rare Points and a 1.1x bonus to Event Points earned from stages. You only need to own the costume to benefit - you do not need to own, deploy, or equip the unit whom the costume belongs to with it. If you own multiple such costumes, their bonuses will stack additively (so for example, owning 3 would give you a 1.6x bonus to Rare Points and a 1.3x bonus to Event Points). These bonuses do not affect mission rewards, only stages.

The following characters' costumes will provide a bonus for this event:

Marisa Kirisame (Detective at the Hieda Residence)

Patchouli Knowledge (Great Library at the Hieda Residence)

Alice Margatroid (Puppeteer at the Hieda Residence)
