Path to Nowhere, a tower defense gacha RPG, opens pre-registration ahead of global launch

AISNO Games has opened pre-registration for the English and Japanese versions of Path to Nowhere, an upcoming tower defense gacha RPG. This brand new anime-style game has a very gothic vibe to it and plays similarly to other popular gacha games like Arknights or the upcoming Girls Frontline: Neural Cloud.

Path to Nowhere launched its open beta for Chinese audiences in August and is now launching a pre-registration campaign for both the English and Japanese markets. With many systems modeled after recent successful gacha games, it's unquestionably one you'll want to get your hands on when it launches at a later date.

Path to Nowhere's gameplay, like that of Arknights, features a tile-based map with portions that must be defended. To do so, you'll select a squad of characters from the vast roster and lead them onto the battlefield.

From there, you'll position them across the stage as wave after wave of enemies arrives, and use their timed abilities and auto-attack patterns to keep them at bay. If it's anything like other tower defense games, it's safe to assume that this seemingly simple gameplay loop will end up becoming quite difficult in the later stages, requiring a lot of strategic placement and quick thinking.

Furthermore, as is typical for most gacha games, you will be able to upgrade all of your units in order to keep up with the higher-level content. This improves not only their stats but also the effectiveness of their abilities.

The striking visuals are undoubtedly the most distinctive aspect of Path to Nowhere. The art style is gothic vampiric, with deep reds and shades of black adorning the majority of the characters. The overall setting appears to be cyberpunk in nature, but the colors really set it apart from other genre contemporaries, making it quite gloomy.
